QUEEN VICTORIA
The original set, exhibited at the London World’s Fair in 1851, was purchased by Queen Victoria. This special collection, showcasing the talents of Herend painters and reflecting Chinese motifs, was later named after Queen Victoria.
Handcrafted… Herend is not just porcelain… Herend porcelain is produced using traditional methods. In the factory process, technology is used only in kiln heating systems. The mixture of lead and raw materials at the core of porcelain is equally important. This mixture brings out the porcelain’s unique whiteness, transparency, and brilliance. Entirely handcrafted, Herend employs over 2,000 painters. The painters utilize natural daylight in their work and, when they attain the title of "Chief Painter," they gain the right to sign their works. Herend also offers its customers the opportunity to have any lost or broken pieces reproduced upon request. Herend’s ornaments are notably inspired by nature. Specific birds, meaningful plants such as lotuses, peonies, and Indian flowers, plants, butterflies, waterfalls, shepherds, and Chinese motifs reflect the richness of this collection. The price differences of Herend porcelain reflect the complexity and richness of the patterns.
