The Rothschild Bird depicts the activities of two "infamous" songbirds in a Viennese garden. However, as if to preserve their innocence, the Herend painters always deliberately concealed their breeds and lineages. To celebrate the pattern's 150th anniversary, the artists were inspired to revisit this famous backyard, and while they didn't reveal the actual culprits, they wanted to create a new interpretation by highlighting certain breeds. Furthermore, in tribute to the pattern's numerous American admirers, the artists focused on North American songbirds. While these birds may not be as legendary as their necklace-playing European cousins, they are certainly renowned for their vocal contributions to the bird chorus. The Songbird pattern, which features a black-capped tit, eastern bluebird, yellow warbler, and a robin, is available on all dinnerware, including plates and cups.
